Realistic Wood Texture and Colour

Thanks to the content of real wood fibres (usually 10–40%), prints made from wood filaments have a matte, natural surface and give off a light wood smell during printing. After printing, objects can be sanded, painted or varnished just like real wood, which allows for perfect finishing and customisation of models.
In addition, the colour of the final print can be influenced by the nozzle temperature – at higher temperatures the filament darkens and gains a “burnt” effect, giving each model a unique look.

Easy Printing with a Professional Result

Despite their natural appearance, wood filaments are easy to print, because they are based on a PLA polymer – the easiest material to work with in 3D printing. It is usually enough to slightly adjust nozzle temperature and print speed to prevent burning of the wood particles.

Recommended print settings:

• Nozzle temperature: 190–220 °C

• Bed temperature: 40–60 °C (optional)

• Nozzle: 0.5 mm or larger (helps prevent clogging from wood fibres)

• Print speed: 40–60 mm/s

Due to the wood fibre content, it is recommended to clean the nozzle after printing to avoid clogging.
