Spectrum Light Weight PLA
The uniqueness of this material lies in the innovative technology of temperature-activated active foaming.
During the full foaming phase, the filament increases its volume more than 2 times, achieving an extremely low density of approximately 0.52 g/cm3.
This material provides the user with exceptional flexibility in regulating the flow of material, allowing it to be reduced by up to 55%. This subsequently allows for the production of parts with significantly lower weight. Additionally, it is possible to utilize foaming capabilities to accelerate the 3D printing process by using thicker layers or individual solid contours. The speed and level of foaming can be controlled by changing the printing temperature, allowing the material density to be adjusted for different parts as needed.
This filament is the ideal solution for printing RC airplane models and other projects where low weight is important. By using Spectrum Light Weight PLA, a significant reduction in the weight of printed parts can be achieved, up to 50% compared to traditional PLA.The extraordinary properties of this filament allow users to benefit not only from its low weight but also from the exceptional durability and precision of the prints.
Matte and rough surface finish gives finished parts an attractive appearance and effectively masks layers. The foam activation occurs at printing temperatures from 220 °C and should peak in the temperature range of 240 °C – 250 °C.
Please note that a significant reduction in flow may cause the filament to foam before exiting the nozzle and clog the extruder. With maximum foaming of the material, the color of the filament will be slightly lighter.
