Product description

Highly durable and rigid

Spectrum PET CF15 (manufactured based on LUVOCOM® 3F PET CF 9780 BK) is a material based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) in black color, mass-colored. This is the simplest carbon fiber-filled material on the market for 3D printing and exhibits significantly better thermal and mechanical properties than PET-G based materials. The filament shows no issues with retraction and a heated chamber is not required for printing. A notable feature of the filament is the excellent surface finish immediately after removing the model from the printer, which reduces the need for post-processing.

Spectrum PET CF15 (made from LUVOCOM® 3F PET CF 9780 BK material) is compatible with support materials such as HIPS-X.

The filament allows for the printing of very strong and rigid parts. It is characterized by low influence of humidity and temperature on dimensions.

From a technical standpoint, the highly attractive properties of Spectrum PET CF15 filament (made from LUVOCOM® 3F PET CF 9780 BK) can be achieved by adhering to the basic storage rules for this type of material (in a dry and dark place with humidity below 15%). To achieve the best performance of the printed object, it is recommended to dry the material before starting work.

Note: Due to the significant carbon fiber content, it is recommended to use nozzles with a larger diameter than the standard 0.4 mm diameter. In addition, the presence of carbon fibers can cause degradation of standard brass nozzles, therefore for long-term use of Spectrum PET CF15 nozzles (made using LUVOCOM® 3F PET CF 9780 BK), hardened steel or ruby nozzles are recommended.

Material Properties

  • low shrinkage during processing (linear) 0.1%.
  • high short-term operating temperature up to 125 °C (up to 200 h)
  • relatively high resistance to thermal aging
  • high strength in the Z-axis
  • high hardness, stiffness, and resistance to creep of printed parts
  • chemical resistance to fats and oils
  • good tribological properties, even under dry friction conditions, as found in sliding bearings
  • very strong layer lamination
  • very good impact strength
  • low water absorption 0.3% (23 °C/24 h)

Applications

  • automotive industry
  • textiles and office machine components
  • instruments and precision engineering
  • production of end-use parts
  • manufacturing tools
  • production of functional prototypes
