The two-component insulating and sealing tape 3M Scotch 2228 has a thick layer of cable mastic (soft filling layer) on the inner side and self-fusing synthetic EPR rubber on the outer side.
Thanks to mastic, it adheres very well to all types of materials. Remains permanently flexible and resists punctures. It is resistant to UV radiation and ozone, against acids, weather conditions, and mechanical stress. It has high insulating strength and thermal conductivity, and it slows down burning. Usage: electrical insulation up to 1 kV and high voltage, insulation of low and high voltage busbars up to 35 kV, cushioning, sealing the free end of cables against moisture, repairing damaged sheaths of rubber cables, creating a seal on cable entry (like a "bottle neck"). Technical specifications of the carrier: rubber/mastic total thickness: 1.65 mm temperature resistance: 90 (short-term overload 130) °C
