The Virtuos CCD 2D HW-855A scanner is a modern wireless barcode scanner that combines high speed, durability, and versatility. It is ideal for retail, supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies, and other points of sale where it is necessary to reliably and quickly read both 1D and 2D codes from paper as well as from mobile phone and tablet displays. Thanks to its sensitive camera sensor, it can read even under extreme lighting conditions, including direct sunlight, and can decode even difficult-to-read codes – blurred, crumpled, low-contrast, high-density, or long codes. The reading speed reaches 60 frames per second, ensuring smooth and efficient operation at checkout counters and during inventory checks.

The reader is ready for mobile payments and supports reading 2D codes from small displays. It contains internal memory that can store up to 100,000 EAN-13 barcodes, enabling operation in Memory Mode – offline data collection with subsequent transfer to a computer. Supports reading Czech characters in UTF-8 from texts in 2D codes. Wireless operation works at a distance of up to 150 meters (depending on the environment) and is compatible with Windows 7/8/10/11, iOS, Android, and Linux systems. Automatic pairing between the base and the scanner takes place without the need for configuration in the operating system of the connected device.

The scanner is supplied with a charging base and an RS-232 cable with a length of 1.45 m. Charging is possible directly from a computer's USB port (using the included adapter), via pin 9 of the D-SUB 9 CANON connector with 5V voltage, or with a USB cable through the USB-C connector. When connected to a computer, scanning via the RS-232 port is automatically activated. The 18650 battery is user-replaceable, charging takes 4.5 hours, and battery life reaches up to 60,000 reads on a single charge or 16 hours of continuous operation. The scanner is equipped with audible and visual read indication and directional code targeting using a red indicator strip, enabling trouble-free scanning even from multiple codes placed side by side. The design is modern, stylish, and durable, suitable for intensive everyday use.
