High Performance for Special Applications
Spectrum PPS AM230™ is another in the series of special high-temperature filaments offered by Spectrum. The basis of our material is a modified PPS polymer with exceptionally high mechanical properties. Even under continuous load at high temperatures (above 125 °C), stiffness, strength, and creep resistance remain unchanged. Spectrum PPS AM230™ has a VICAT softening temperature of up to 236 °C.
The fiber is also characterized by remarkable chemical resistance - it is practically insoluble in any known solvent, including concentrated acids and bases.
A characteristic feature of Spectrum PPS AM230™ filament is its inherent flame resistance even without the use of flame-retardant additives. Thanks to its high dielectric strength, PPS material is ideally suited as an insulator. It is also worth mentioning that PPS exhibits excellent adhesion to silicone, which successfully enhances its functional properties in applications requiring airtight seals between individual components. The impressive properties of PPS allow for very versatile applications in the field of 3D printing.
Especially in electronics and the automotive industry, where parts must withstand the highest mechanical, electrical, thermal, and chemical stresses.Filament Spectrum PPS AM230™ is designed for use in high-temperature printers (head temperature 300-330 °C; working platform 100-120 °C) with an actively heated chamber (60-80 °C).
Despite the high dimensional stability of the material, we recommend preventing the formation of stress cracks due to sudden temperature changes (especially if the model is geometrically complex) by leaving the model in the warm chamber before removal, allowing the print to cool gradually.
