Memory cards

Memory cards for more space, fast saving, and easy data transfer

Photos, videos, documents, and other files are taking up more and more space. Memory cards provide a simple way to expand the storage space of compatible devices without having to replace their internal memory. In our range, you’ll find SD cards, microSD cards, and CompactFlash memory cards in a variety of capacities and speed classes. They are suitable for digital cameras, camcorders, mobile phones, tablets, drones, and other electronic devices that support data storage on memory cards.

SD, microSD, or CompactFlash—which type should you choose?

Individual types of memory cards differ in size, design, and compatibility. The correct format is therefore the first step in choosing a suitable storage solution.

  • SD memory cards – commonly used in digital cameras, camcorders, and other devices with an SD slot.
  • microSD memory cards – thanks to their small size, they are suitable for mobile phones, tablets, action cameras, drones, or selected portable devices.
  • CompactFlash cards – used primarily in select professional and older digital cameras or specialized equipment.
  • Memory cards with an adapter – some microSD cards come with an adapter for use in compatible devices with an SD slot.

Memory card capacity by amount of data

From smaller capacities for documents and everyday photos to high-capacity memory cards for extensive video recordings, the right storage size depends primarily on how you use it. For everyday file storage, lower-capacity cards may be sufficient, while shooting in RAW format or recording high-resolution video requires significantly more space.

When choosing, it is also important to check the device’s supported maximum capacity. For example, the SDHC and SDXC standards differ in the storage capacities they support and may not be compatible with all older devices.

Read and write speed – an important factor when choosing

In addition to capacity, memory card speed also plays an important role. Read speed affects the transfer of stored files, while write speed is particularly important when taking burst photos, recording video, or saving large amounts of data.

Modern SD and microSD cards may be marked Class 10, U1, U3, V30, V60, or V90. These speed classes indicate the minimum guaranteed sequential write speed according to the relevant standard. For example, the V30 rating means a minimum write speed of 30 MB/s. For recording video in 4K, it is advisable to consider not only the speed class but also the specific requirements of the camera being used.

Memory cards for photography, video, and everyday work

Memory cards are useful in a wide range of situations. They provide photographers with space for high-resolution images, allow videographers to record videos, and help ordinary users expand their devices’ available storage. You can also use them to transfer data between compatible devices or when working with laptops equipped with a memory card reader.

For long-term recording, for example in security cameras, it is advisable to choose special models designed for repeated and continuous writing, if the device supports them.

How to choose a memory card that will be compatible with your device?

Before purchasing, we recommend checking the card format, capacity, speed class, and compatibility with the specific device. It is also important to consider whether you will mainly use the card to store photos, record video, or transfer data regularly.

A memory card primarily serves as a practical portable storage device, but it is advisable to back up important files regularly, for example to external drives. Our selection includes memory cards from various manufacturers, with different capacities and speed classes, so you can choose a solution that meets your requirements for performance, storage space, and intended use.
