3M Scotch-Brite™ Bristle™ radial bristle brushes with abrasive-filled bristles clean, finish, polish, and deburr. They allow better contact with the surface than wire brushes and grind consistently throughout their service life. They are safer than wire brushes, as they eliminate the risk of wires being thrown from the brush during grinding. Firm yet flexible bristles create uniform surfaces around protrusions, groove details, patterns, and other hard-to-reach areas. They effectively remove paints, stains, adhesives, burn marks from welding, rust, heavy oxides, and surface impurities. The discs work well on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals.

Type A contains stronger angled bristles compared to type C for greater aggressiveness, but it has less adaptability than type C.

Type C is more curved than Type A and has thinner walls for greater adaptability.
