Heat-shrink tubing, of course, also ensures adaptation to the wire or cable without causing it to twist or shift. Round and oval sleeves will serve you well, but when perfect insulation of the conductor is required, white or yellow heat shrink tubing is still the most suitable choice. The shrink ratio of heat shrink tubing can vary. As a rule, however, heat shrink tubing shrinks to half of its original diameter, 2:1, but tubing with a shrink ratio of 3:1 is by no means uncommon either.
